About the PUD

Mason County PUD No 1 became the first operating Public Utility District in the State of Washington when voters approved a proposition on November 6, 1934.

Mason County PUD No. 1 is publicly owned and serves approximately 5249 electric customers. The PUD currently owns 33 water systems serving approximately 1696 customers.

The PUD currently employs twenty-two full time employees. Mason County PUD No 1 is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
